Improving the quality and accessibility of outpatient home nursing services in Kaunas city

On 13 June 2024, Kaunas City Municipality Administration signed the contract No 09-010-P-0042 for the project "Improving the quality and accessibility of outpatient home nursing services in Kaunas", co-financed by the European Union Structural Funds. The project promoter is Kaunas City Municipality Administration, the administering authority is the Central Project Management Agency. The project is implemented with partners - Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Hospital Kaunas Clinics, Public Institution Kaunas City Polyclinic, UAB MEDGINTRAS, UAB InMedica, UAB Vita longa, UAB Žaliakalnis Polyclinic.

For the project Funding is granted under the European Union Funds Development Programme for the period 2021-2027, Progress Measure No.11-002-02-11-01 "Improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services" for the period 2021-2027, the European Union Funds and the Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility (EGADP) and the State Budget of the Republic of Lithuania (hereafter referred to as "State Budget"). The maximum amount of eligible costs set in the project budget is EUR 117 937,30, of which the EGADP subsidy is EUR 97 468,83 and the State budget EUR 20 468,47. The project activities are scheduled to end on 31 March 2025.

Target group of the project: people of any age who have a disability, a level of incapacity for work or a level of incapacity for independence, a questionnaire-based assessment of the need for care, people with a life-threatening illness whose health condition is compatible with palliative care and who need long-term care, and people with mental health problems (senile dementia, Alzheimer's disease) who need long-term care. Persons who have reached retirement age and who, due to age, have partially or completely lost the ability to take care of their personal/family life and to participate in society, and persons suffering from chronic illnesses who need long-term care services, as well as their families and local communities.

Project objective - To improve the quality and accessibility of outpatient home nursing services in Kaunas city by equipping mobile teams providing ASPN with medical equipment.
